I get the following error when I try to EFILE: Authentification failed. What should I do?

This error occurs if you entered your EFILE On-Line Number and/or your EFILE On-Line Password incorrectly in the EFILE > Options > T1 > EFILE Internet menu.

Re-enter your EFILE On-Line Number and your EFILE On-Line Password, assigned by the CRA under the EFILE > Options menu. Make sure that you enter the information exactly as you received it. If you still continue to receive an authentication failure when you try to EFILE, contact the CRA to confirm that you are using the correct EFILE On-Line number and password.

If you attempt to login more than five times using an incorrect password, the CRA will lock your account and you will have to contact the EFILE Help Desk.  To contact your local CRA help desk for assistance, go to the EFILE Helpdesk Support for T1 Returns website.
