ProFile has selected to transfer the unused tuition/education amounts from my dependant to my spouse's return; however, I would rather claim them on my own return. How can I do this?

ProFile's family linking feature optimizes federal transfer credits, such as the tuition tax credit, between data files for members of a family.

If you wish to ignore your software's recommendation, you will need to override the Tuition and education amounts transferred from a child on line 324 of Schedule 1. On your spouse's return, set the number to 0 (the font will become red to indicate the override). Next, on your own return, enter the amount that you are able to claim.
