How to Install QuickBooks 2012

When you install a new version of QuickBooks on a computer where another version is already installed, you have the choice of adding the new version or upgrading and replacing the earlier version.

  • Upgrade and replace an earlier version. This is a good choice for users who don't use more than one version of QuickBooks on the same computer.

    We recommend that you back up your company file before upgrading your version of QuickBooks.

  • Add the new version to your computer, keeping earlier versions available as well. This is a good choice for users who need to switch between different versions, such as ProAdvisors or accountants.
