QuickBooks Install Errors
QuickBooks 2012 and higher is packaged with .NET 4.0. Some users may come across an error referencing the .NET framework, or one of its components. Please see the examples below for more help.
Windows Update is OFF while installing QuickBooks 2012 and higher.
QuickBooks 2012 may produce an error during install when the Windows Update setting is OFF. If your system has the Windows Update setting set to Off, the QuickBooks Installer will encounter the following error while installing .Net 4.0. The install will then fail following several more install errors.

To remove the error:
- Restart your system.
- Begin the QuickBooks installation.
- If the issue still appears, please read the support article for Error Code 1935
Windows Update is ON while installing QuickBooks 2012 and higher.
Computers with Windows Update set to ON require Restart after critical updates from Microsoft.
In cases where the user's system has not been restarted since the last critical update, and QuickBooks installation is started, the Install engine will display the following error message:
Error 2908: Could not register component .

To remove the error:
- Restart your system. This should finalize any critical Windows Updates.
- Begin the QuickBooks installation. The error should now be removed.
The QuickBooks 2012 and higher installation will cause an error when a user is installing Microsoft Office 2007 Primary Interop assemblies, and the system doesn’t have .NET 1.1 installed.Users will see the following error:

To remove the error:
- Restart your system
- Install QuickBooks again and the Install should complete successfully.
The following dialog will be displayed during .Net Installation through QuickBooks.
Windows Imaging Components (WIC) have to be installed in the machine before a QuickBooks Install. To fix this, follow the steps below.
To work around this error:
- Click OK on the dialog box as shown above
- Install WIC from Microsoft Site:

- Start QuickBooks install again.
Some customers using Windows 7 and Vista may encounter this error. The error usually comes after QuickBooks has been installed. Intuit is aware of this issue and is currently working on a solution.

To Remove the Error:
- click on Close the Program and the Installer will close.
- In this case QB installed successfully and you can open QB with out any issues.
