Run the QuickBooks Connection Diagnostic Tool
Run the QuickBooks Connection Diagnostic Tool on the server first, and then run it on the client computers. Doing it in this order helps determine the source of the error.
To run the tool:
- Exit QuickBooks on all computers on the network.
- Download and extract the QuickBooks Connection Diagnostic Tool on the computer where your company file is stored.
- Then, double-click the Nettool.exe file to install the tool.
- Once the installation completes, double-click the QuickBooks Connection Diagnostic Tool icon to run the tool.
