Print T4 Slips in QuickBooks

Print T4 Slips
  1. Go to the Employees menu, select Payroll Forms, and then select Process T4s.

  2. In the Process T4s window, make sure that the correct employees are selected and that the correct payroll year is showing.

    If you have not already done so, you must review the T4 slips before you can print them.

  3. Click Print T4s.

  4. From the Printer Type drop-down menu, choose the type of printer you have.

  5. Select the type of T4 slip you are printing and who you are printing it for:

    • Canada Revenue Agency Copies: if you are printing T4 slips to send to the CRA, choose this option. QuickBooks prints one T4 for each employee, with two T4 slips on each page. Send these slips to the CRA with your T4 Summary form.

    • Employer copies: if you are printing T4 slips for your records, choose this option. QuickBooks prints one T4 for each employee, with two T4 slips on each page. You must keep these slips for your records for a minimum of six years.

    • Employee copies (No Business Number Printed): if you are printing T4 slips to give to your employees, choose this option. QuickBooks prints two copies of the employee's T4 slip, both on the same page. Employee T4 slips do not include your company's Business Number (as the CRA requires), although QuickBooks displays it when you preview T4 slips.

      If you are printing on blank paper, QuickBooks prints a page of instructions after the T4 slip page. Give both pages to the employee for his or her tax return.

  6. Click Print.
