1. Open QuickBooks.

   If you have not yet registered QuickBooks, the Register QuickBooks window appears. In this window, click Begin Registration to start the activation process.

   To open this window from within the product, go to the Help menu, click Register QuickBooks and then click Begin Registration.

2. QuickBooks will connect to the QuickBooks activation server and attempt to register your product online. Follow the onscreen instructions.

3. If QuickBooks cannot connect to the activation server, the Register by Phone window will open automatically. Follow the onscreen instructions to register your product by phone with a support representative.

   Under rare circumstances, this window may not appear. To access the registration window directly:

   1. Go to the Help menu and click About QuickBooks.

   2. On your keyboard, hold the CTRL key, and then press R, then P.

Do not use the Renew License by Phone window from the Manage My License command on the Help menu.  This window is used only for renewing a subscription to QuickBooks when it runs out.

 

1. Open QuickBooks.
2. If you are not prompted to activate, go to the File menu and choose Activate QuickBooks.
3. The activation wizard guides you through the activation process. Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions.

If you are prompted to activate QuickBooks by phone but want to activate by internet, check to make sure that you have an active internet connection and try again.

If you are unable to activate online, contact a Customer Service Representative at 1 888 333-8580. You must provide the representative with your customer number (if you have one) and Your Product Key which is provided by QuickBooks. The representative will provide you with a licence key. Enter this number in Your Licence Key fields and click Finish to complete the activation process.

The My Licence Information window appears when QuickBooks is activated. Print this page for future references. To view this window again, go to the Help menu, and select My Licence Information.

If you do not see Activate QuickBooks from the File menu, then QuickBooks is activated. The Activate QuickBooks option changes to Refresh QuickBooks Licence....
