Changes to sales tax in QuickBooks
We've made the following improvement to sales tax in QuickBooks 2010. Newer versions will have similar steps and directions.

- New Manage Sales Tax window - to help you manage your sales tax information all in one place.You can get to this window by going to Sales Tax, then choosing Manage Sales Tax.
- Improved File Sales Tax window - We've added some features to this window: get help fixing unreported tax amounts and generate the Tax Agency Detail report.
- Now you can electronically file (efile) your GST return to the government
- New Sales Tax Code Setup Wizard to help you set up new rates, change tax rates, add tax for a different province.
- Reports on sales tax more robust
- Tax forms updated as per CRA changes
- Sales tax is now being included in reimbursable expenses - This was the functionality in QuickBooks 2007 but was removed in 2008. Now it's back. When you pass expenses on to your customers, now you can also include the sales tax in the amount that is passed on.
- Condense sales tax summary - show your sales tax on your forms similar to how QuickBooks 2007 did it
- If upgrading from Multicurrency or 2007 or earlier, we've improved the upgrade process to assist you in finding sales tax amounts that QuickBooks detected as being unreported.
