- Memorized reports and report templates are missing after upgrading
What happened to the forms (e.g. invoices) and report templates that I customized and memorized after I upgraded to QuickBooks 2008 or later?
QuickBooks 2008 or later uses a new database format and a new sales tax system. These allow for several benefits, including greater flexibility in your company setup and more efficient access to the records in your company file. However, because these data fields are coded differently from previous versions of QuickBooks, the data references in templates and memorized reports no longer refer to the same amount and types of information.
What does this mean to me?
-
If you are upgrading from QuickBooks 2007 or earlier to QuickBooks 2008 or later, your memorized forms and templates will not be upgraded.
-
If you are upgrading from QuickBooks 2008 to a future version of QuickBooks, your memorized forms and templates will be upgraded.
Also, report templates that were exported from a previous version of QuickBooks are incompatible with QuickBooks 2008 or later. After you upgrade your company file, you must re-create and memorize the reports in QuickBooks 2008 or later, and re-create your customized forms. The default forms included with QuickBooks do not need to be changed. They will work with pre-printed form paper from both QuickBooks 2008 or later and previous versions of QuickBooks.
To help you with the process of customizing forms and memorizing reports, we have created over 100 customized form and report templates for you to download into QuickBooks 2008 or later. You can download these new templates on the Support site.
