Why do I get errors while installing Quicken?

Installation errors can be caused by several problems. Sometimes, your anti virus software may prevent Quicken from installing correctly. You can disable your anti virus software and then try installing again.

Disabling your antivirus software may make you vulnerable to viruses, Trojans and worms that can negatively impact your system. Intuit strongly recommends you disconnect your Internet connection before disabling your anti virus software. For information on how to disconnect your Internet connection, please contact your Internet service provider.
 

 

Prepare your installation file

If you are installing Quicken from a download link, please download and save the installation file to your computer before you disconnect your Internet connection.

 

Disable your Anti Virus software

To disable your anti virus software, right click on the icon at the bottom right corner of your screen and choose Disable. Due to the differences in the wide variety of software available, Intuit is unable to provide support for Anti Virus Software. Please contact the software manufacturer for details.

 

Run the Installation
  • If you are installing Quicken from CD, please insert the CD and the installation wizard should start up automatically.
  • If you are installing Quicken from a download link, please double click on the downloaded installation file to begin the installation.
Re-enable your Anti Virus software and Internet connection

Once you receive the message saying the installation was successful, you can enable your Anti virus software as per the manufacturers instructions and re-connect your system to the Internet.

If you continue to get installation errors, you may have to install Quicken in safe mode.
