- Mac Version for Quicken
Is there a Mac version of Quicken
There are two US versions of Quicken for Mac:
Quicken 2007 for Mac and Quicken Essentials for Mac.
Neither of these versions have been designed for Canadian users. We recommend that our customers use a Canadian version of Quicken for Windows® to ensure the best product and experience.
- Quicken 2007 and Quicken Essentials do not have the ability to print Canadian cheques based on the new standard from the CPA
- The sales tax functionality in Quicken 2007 and Quicken Essentials is not designed to handle Canadian sales taxes
- Customers who deal in multiple currencies will not be able to do so in either Mac version
- Customers who track their investments in the Quicken Essentials version are only able to track the value of their investments and not individual transactions
- Customers who track their investments in Quicken 2007 are not able to track the cost basis of their investments using average cost, as required by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)
You can install and run Windows® using the built-in Boot Camp utility available on all new Macs. You will need to boot up your Mac into Windows® each time you want to run Quicken.
Alternatively you can install software that will let you run Windows while still running your Mac operating system.
