Why am I not getting a daily or historical price for one or more Market Indexes?

We have recently changed security feed providers and as a result some Market Indexes in Quicken are not working.

As a temporary solution; we have identified a fix that will permit you to download these indexes.

  1. Open the Security List in your Quicken data file.
  2. Locate the Market Index you are having trouble with in the Security List and double click on the name.
  3. This should have opened the Security Detail View window. Now click on Edit Security Details.
  4. In the Edit Security Details window, add "INDEX:" before the ticker symbol.  For example if you are editing the Market Index for the NASDAQ, change "COMPX" to "INDEX:COMPX".
Note: For the Toronto Exchange and the Toronto Venture Exchange you also need to change the Exchange field to read U.S. Stock, do not change the currency used, it remains Canadian dollar.
  5. Click on OK to accept the change. In the new window leave the selection to Merge quotes from the old name to the new one.
  6. Click Ok to accept the changes.
